Places

Somewhere in particular, and why you would go there to do a thing. These carry area character, the access position and how to arrive — and no routes, no distances and no ascent figures, because there is no source for them we would stand behind.

Why there are so few. A hub is worth a page when there is something to say about an area that is not on its activity page already, when the access position can be established from an authority we can reach, and when photographs of that actual place exist and are lawfully reusable. Two more areas were researched for this set and neither was published: one because no lawful photograph of the activity there could be found, and one because the National Park Authority’s own site could not be reached to verify. Mega Sprint 30 measured what it would take to add routes to any of these and found no authoritative, lawfully reusable source, so these pages carry the parts that need none, and say so.
